The Cosmograph Daytona is equipped with the caliber 4130, a self-winding mechanical chronograph movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex, providing a power reserve of approximately 72 hours. This movement integrates the chronograph function with fewer components, thus further enhancing its reliability. A mechanism with a column wheel and a vertical clutch carries out the chronograph. This allows the clock to start instantly and with great precision.
